Petra, Wadi Rum and Dead Sea Hiking Tour (8 Days)

All meals such as breakfast, lunch and dinner are included and with every meal, you can enjoy nice Bedouin tea.

Camping equipment and the jeep assistance are also included for the hiking days.

Day 1: Queen Alia International airport / Amman

Meeting and assistance at the airport upon arrival (visa formalities, customs…). Transfer to your hotel in Amman for overnight.


Day 2: Amman / Petra

After breakfast, drive directly to Petra for a full day to explore one of the seven world wonders. You can either visit the city on your own, or go with a private tour guide (50 JOD a day). Entry tickets can be bought at the main entrance (visitor's center). A one day ticket for Petra is 50 JD per person. Visit the Siq, Treasury, Street of Facades, Theatre and Colonnaded Street. Then, you still have time to visit the Monastery and/or the High Place of Sacrifice. It is a lot of steps to climb but definitely worth the views. Lunch suggestion: the Basin Restaurant inside of Petra (or you can bring your own lunchbox). After your visit of Petra, there are a few other options to enjoy your time in the city : Turkish bath, visit of Wadi Musa, “Petra by night” (each Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, Petra is lighted by candles, through the Siq until the Treasury, with a traditional Bedouin sitting at the Treasury, music and story telling). Dinner and overnight at a hotel in Petra.


Day 3: Petra / Wadi Rum

After breakfast, drive to Wadi Rum, famous from the red-pink sand and rock formations. You will enjoy a full day hiking in Wadi Rum protected area, through Um Salab and Um Ashreen to the Infasieh inscriptions. Close to here your will also camp. Total of 14 kms hiking – around 6 hours.


Day 4: Wadi Rum

Another full day of hiking in Wadi Rum. You will visit the Sand Dunes, Lawrence's House and the Burdah Bridge. Private        camping at Burdah Bridge. Total of 19 km – around 7 hours.


Day 5: Wadi Rum

Today you will hike via Wadi Meharak to Barragh Canyon. Enjoy the silence of the desert and the beautiful scenery. Private camping at Barragh Canyon. Total of 14 km – around 5.5 hours.


Day 6: Wadi Rum

Hike via Siq to Diseh Area where you will stop for lunch. Total of 10 km – around 4 hours. 

After lunch there is the option to continue hiking to your campsite for another 2 hours or to go by camel to the campsite. Overnight camping at Wadi Isaifaan. This will be your last night of camping so, you may want to enjoy a nice Bedouin cup of tea at the campfire and watch the beautiful sky lighted by millions of stars...

Day 7: Wadi Rum / Dead Sea

After breakfast, drive to the Dead Sea, lowest point on the earth's surface, for a free afternoon and evening. Float in the salty waters, try out the famous healing mud and maybe even try a pampering spa treatment ! On your way to the Dead Sea, there is the option to hike the Siq Trail at Wadi Mujib : a fun water hike for around 2-3 hours (self guided). Overnight at a hotel along the Dead Sea.


Day 8: Dead Sea / Queen Alia International Airport

Transfer to Queen Alia International Airport for departure, 3 hours ahead of your departure time (2 hours for check in and around 1 hour driving from the Dead Sea to the airport). ​
